worm and mooshroom
introduction
hello. my name is WORM and i decided that i was going to make my first website graciously hosted by neocities. my only experience coding was in a college course using dreamweaver, so i'm at least familiar with html and css, but not good at it by a long-shot - i'm pretty sure i passed the class by sheer willpower alone.
thankfully, i have a great group of friends and family members who have spent time helping me out of the kindness of their hearts, and for that, i am exceptionally grateful.
i don't know when this project will be done (or really even what this project is) but if you stumbled here for some reason, welcome to my mind's storage bin.
most of the links on the right-sidebar won't be ready for a while, but we'll pretend that i put something really interesting and cool over there.
- to be a worm -
a worm has the ability to assimilate into its surroundings despite the uncertain circumstances. for me, the philosophy of the worm is about being grounded, aware of the dangers and fears that may plague existence but moving forward nonetheless.
in many environments, worms are an important part of the food chain and the target of countless creatures for this value alone. in other places, however, the worm is a foreign parasite. this in itself is good to keep in mind - no one belongs everywhere.
the worm, despite imminent danger, still peeks its head out of the dirt in the morning, an almost poetic invitation for predation - an open and honest acceptance of life and the individual’s purpose of it all.
- to be a mooshroom -
admittedly, there is no such thing as a 'mooshroom' - maybe. it is quite possible that these creatures exist outside of the public eye, maybe because they were relocated to area 51 or even outer-space. if they were to live on earth, though, i would imagine that a mooshroom is a fey-creature granted consciousness from mushroom form.
there isn't much of a metaphor for a mooshroom, just their core nature that we can only hope to embody. what is life without a little magic? what is reality if not a series of unanticipated events? there has got to be more to it than just the cycle of school, work, eat, and sleep. by using the mooshroom as a rolemodel, maybe it will be easier to protect and expand the same childlike wonder that is so easily forgotten.
i don't know where i am going with this. i just think it's fun.
